Until the last few years, Dori Durbin has been a “closet artist”, creating in private and sharing with few. With the encouragement of her family, mom (a former art teacher), and “fairy art mother” Karen Fisher of Karefish, she took the plunge into the self-taught artist world.
Dori is blessed to be able to focus on pet portrait commissioned work and is excited to continue trying her limits and growing her skills and confidence as an artist. She holds it as an honor to be able to represent people’s dearly loved animals in an art form they can cherish and use.
Durbin’s pet art is primarily acrylics on old printed nautical book paper, canvas or watercolor paper. However, she also dabbles in alcohol inks creating unique works.
