I have a wide range of random interests that have led me to a wide body of work that includes drawing, painting, and ceramics. In each I focus on the incorporation of beauty, patterns, and color.
My series of black and white ink drawings are patterns that follow a series of changes to each shape based on the previous shape.
I use these drawings to make stencils for the use in the backgrounds of my watercolor paintings to add a visual texture. I also have a series of work that is based off of those stencils that layers them over abstracted backgrounds that show through the holes making each piece unique.
I also have a series of pencil drawing that range in subject from bee’s and their alternative lifestyles to compositions that are a mash up of fantasy and realism.
The inclusion of patterns is also a main focus in my ceramic work as well. I use the balance of math and art to align the patterns of lace on my vase and other pottery. The inclusion of the lace and a range of slip trailing techniques lead to designs that mimic the style and beauty of wedding gowns.
