2016 Activities for Kids
West Maumee had many hands-on kids art projects offered by non-profits. Kids had an unparalleled art experience and all the projects are free.
Youth Art Tent & Sidewalk Chalk
The Youth Art Tent gave the younger set a chance to make their own artwork to take home. Kids also took part in sidewalk chalk art at designated spots.
Drummunity performed Saturday at the four corners (Maumee and Main Streets). All ages enjoyed this lively performance.
Instrument Petting Zoo
At the Adrian Symphony Orchestra tent, volunteers were on hand to give visitors an introduction to playing a musical instrument.
A special exhibit with live Monarch butterflies and art by Rachel Flores educated visitors about the precarious plight of these beautiful butterflies. Kids made art inspired by their patterns and flight.
Throwing Tent (For Adults Too!)
Have you ever watched a potter using a throwing wheel and thought it looked like fun? At the always-popular Throwing Tent, visitors gave it a try for themselves. The tent was staffed by volunteers from the Adrian College Art and Design Department and from LCVA Community Clay Studio.
Face painting was offered during Artalicious weekend for kids.
Flags over West Maumee
Students from several area schools collaborated in making flags that were strung across the youth area on West Maumee Street.
