Bio: My interest in photography dates back to my childhood when I used to develop black and white film and print pictures with my Dad. However, from those days to the present I have been on a journey marked by stark contrasts. Significant mileposts in that journey include my enlistment in the Marine Corps with service as an MP and almost 25 years as a corrections officer in a Federal Correctional facility. From experiencing the stark realities of life in those vocations, I now focus my retirement years on experiencing and documenting the beauty of the world around me. I credit my interest and ability to appreciate nature to a decision I made on July 24, 2003 to bring God into my life as I battled my addiction to alcohol. It is through Him that I have been able to pursue a goal of ‘Sharing God’s Beauty’ with others through my photographs. To do this, I have set as a secondary goal to photograph each of the 434 bird species that reside in Michigan. If I am able to accomplish this I will have made significant strides toward meeting my primary goal to ‘Share God’s Beauty’ through my pictures. I hope you find viewing my photographs to be a meaningful experience. Thank you for sharing this journey with me!
