Mary Kelly

Hometown: Adrian, MI

Discipline: Fiber Arts

Mary Kelly specializes in fiber arts primarily using a process called wet felting to design one-of-a-kind purses & jewelry. She also creates nuno felted wool & silk scarves. A few other accessories include scarves using repurposed wool, knitted scarves, whimsical ribbon scarves, and angels.

Mary’s work as an artist is continually evolving. She loves the moldeability of wool and the many ways in which it can be fashioned into a unique accessory. She  continually searches for new techniques & applications such as bleaching & overdying. Sometimes her ideas take awhile to develop; sometimes they happen “in her sleep”. She is currently pursuing felting & garment construction. To Mary, life would be dull without art to inspire her.
