Janet Alford loves the challenge of analyzing what she sees and translating it into her own style. She works from her own photographs, as well as on-location. Nature interests her most, but she is also passionate about the juxtaposition of nature and architecture, such as a garden next to a house.
Her goal for her paintings is trying to create a new way of seeing an object that no one else has expressed while still being able to recognize the subject for what it is. She wants people to have the experience of seeing something that they might not have noticed before, and to appreciate all that is around them.
Janet works in watercolor on watercolor paper and on Yupo paper. She offers some of her work unframed, as well as matted prints and note cards.
