Donald Lee describes himself as the artist from outer-space, who has arrived on your planet to stop mediocrity and create a strange new world. He enjoys the absurd and surreal, which many times is incorporated in his work. It tells a story or narrative, which at times only Don can translate. His creatures may appear in multiple paintings or drawings for a short time or re-emerge after years. Many creatures have long stories that Don expands on over time.
Don uses acrylic, oil, and watercolor paints on paper, canvas, and wood pane. He also works with pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, and so forth on paper or canvas sometimes applied with acrylic medium. He also uses digitally manipulated photographs and hand drawings with digitized parts added, then mounts with acrylic medium atop. His works are each unique in many ways.
