Debra derives inspiration from the materials she is using when working on a new creation. She highlights the gemstones and uses the metalwork to create an
integrated piece. She often is inspired by those aspects of the natural world that seem to be rapidly declining.
As a jeweler working in silver and mixed metals, Debra’s jewelry features unique gemstones in fabricated settings. She uses Keum-boo (24K gold fused to sterling silver), Mokume-gane (fusing differently-colored metals into a billet, reducing and patterning), chasing/repousse, fold forming and anodizing in her work. The majority of her pieces are one-of-a-kind.
