Dana Blossom and Don Burnett are lapidaries and silversmiths who have been making jewelry for the last 8 years. They head out west to mine several times a year looking for unique semi-precious stones to bring their art to life. They cut and polish the stones into cabochons or sometimes leave them in the raw state, whichever looks the most unusual.
They let the stones dictate whether they get wrapped or set in sterling. It’s all about the stone. At times, they wire-wrap the stones with sterling or copper. They also use a lost wax technique to cast the settings for rings and pendants, then setting the stones into the castings. Everything is handmade from start to finish. They specialize in the unique and unusual.
