Craig Zacharyasz creates sculptures out of recycled sheet and tubular copper which is cut, hammered and hand formed. He then brazes these components together using bronze or phosphorous copper rods. Finished pieces are cleaned and lacquered.
95% of the material content of each of his works is recycled copper. Craig allows the metal’s past life, the environment and those who worked with it, contribute to the personality of it’s current form. The goal is not to make a statement but to evoke laughter, whimsy, or maybe a moment of refuge from one’s cares and concerns.
